Learn the logic of computing in this fun magic-based session
About this Event

Join us for a hands-on workshop with Paul Curzon, where astonishing magic tricks come to life. Participants will first experience the wonder of illusion, then go behind the scenes to uncover how the tricks work, learning to perform them themselves. But this isn’t just about magic. As participants step into the magician’s shoes, they’ll begin to think like computer scientists - using logic, spotting patterns, and following step-by-step processes to achieve surprising results.

Through interactive activities, we’ll explore how magicians and computer scientists approach problems in remarkably similar ways. By the end of the session, participants won’t just have a few tricks up their sleeves, they’ll have taken their first steps into the fascinating world of computing.

For children who have just completed Years 5 and 6 this term - please book based on your child’s current/most recent school year, not their new year group from September. This typically corresponds to children aged around 9–11 years old. We reserve the right to refund or deny entry to those who are not in the correct year group.

Refunds can only be issued for tickets cancelled at least two weeks (14 calendar days) in advance of the event date. Please note that this supersedes our normal event terms and conditions.
