Holding Space

Death is something we all encounter, yet it’s often the hardest thing to talk about. This one-hour gathering offers a gentle space to explore the themes of death, dying, and bereavement in an open and supportive environment within a small group setting. Walk-ins are welcome!
The Milton Public Library has partnered with Anne Stewart, a Registered Social Service Worker, Grief Counsellor, End-of-Life Doula and owner of Holding Space Halton will lead us through these sensitive topics with empathy, deep experience and knowledge.

The session will begin with a short talk introducing the topic, followed by time for discussion, questions and story sharing. Whether you wish to speak, listen, or simply reflect, you are welcome here. Together we will create a respectful, compassionate space for honest conversation around life’s most universal experience.
February, Sunday 22 - My grief: Will it ever go away? How to continue living when someone you love dies.
March, Sunday 29 - Death Doula: What is a Death Doula and how can I or my dying person benefit from this support?
April, Sunday 26- Collective grief: How "we" can affect "me".
May, Sunday 31 - Pet loss: My furry friend is gone. Is my grief real?
June, Sunday 28 - The dying process: What to expect. A high-level overview of possible symptoms and how to address them.
