Seattleβs new Waterfront Park is only the latest of many iterations of the shoreline at the foot of downtown. People, animals, economics, technology, and transportation systems have shaped and reshaped it, creating a place where the past mingles with the present. Join author and historian Jennifer Ott in an exploration of the waterfront's history, from its deep past to its complex present.
Jennifer Ott is the executive director of HistoryLink and an environmental historian with a particular interest in Seattle's history of moving dirt, rerouting waterways, and leveling hills. She has written for ππππ‘π‘ππ magazine and the ππππππ π»ππ π‘ππππππ ππ’πππ‘ππππ¦. She contributed to π΄ ππππ π‘π ππππ£π: ππ‘πππππ ππ πππ‘πππππ, ππππ ππ π‘ππππ, πππ πΉππππππ ππππ π΄ππππ π‘βπ πππ¦, Jim Ellisβ memoir, and wrote ππππ π‘ππ ππ ππππ‘π‘ππ: πΆππππ‘πππ π΄ ππππ ππ¦π π‘ππ πππ π ππππππ πΆππ‘π¦. She was the general editor and a contributor to ππππ‘π‘ππ ππ‘ 150: ππ‘πππππ ππ π‘βπ πΆππ‘π¦ πβπππ’πβ 150 ππππππ‘π πΉπππ π‘βπ ππππ‘π‘ππ ππ’πππππππ π΄ππβππ£ππ , and co-author of πππ‘πππ€ππ¦: πβπ ππ‘πππ¦ ππ ππππ‘π‘ππβπ πΏππππ πππ πβππ πΆππππ.
