Join us for History for Lunch on Wednesday, Mar. 4, at 12 p.m.
David Bennett, curator of maritime history at the North Carolina Maritime Museum in Beaufort, will discuss how North Carolina developed a maritime logistics system that funneled desperately needed military supplies from Europe and the West Indies into neighboring colonies to equip the Continental Army and colonial militias. Bennett will examine activities at inland port towns, such as New Bern, Wilmington, Edenton, and South Quay, to explain how supply chains were developed, coordinated, and regulated.
The Museum will offer the History for Lunch program in-person and through Zoom. To attend the lecture virtually, register here in advance to receive the meeting link: https://www.zoomgov.com/meeting/register/_ZzIjLYTQSCDEw65P0sa5A#/registration. Registration is not required to attend the lecture in person.
The virtual program is supported by Friends of the Museum of the Albemarle.
