Historical Fiction Book Club @ Poppy's | September 2026

Step into the past with us! We're excited to continue our historical fiction book club at Poppy's Flower Bar on Tuesday, September 15th at 7pm.

The evening will kick off with a brief talk connecting to our book of the month, followed by a lively discussion led by the Traveling Book Woman of Magpie Collective, Grace. Tickets are $30 and include a wrapped copy of Magpie Collective’s historical fiction book and a treat from Poppy's.

We have an exciting update for our Historical Fiction Book Club!

First, we want to say that we’ve absolutely loved gathering at The Willow and are so grateful for the time we’ve spent there. You’ll probably still see us pop up there (and at other favorite spots!) from time to time—we love getting to explore different spaces around Lexington.

Beginning in September, we’re moving from First Tuesdays at The Willow to Third Tuesdays at Poppy’s Flower Bar. Poppy’s is opening a new space (same location), and we’re so excited to make it our new regular home for this book club. They have a fabulous non-alcoholic drink menu, and the space is family friendly (plus beautiful flowers everywhere you look!). The move to third Tuesdays helps us avoid several holidays that have been interrupting our regular book club schedule, so we’re hoping this new night will make it easier to keep our monthly gatherings consistent.

Our first gathering at Poppy’s will be:

• Tuesday, September 15 at 7:00 p.m.
• August's book: Only the Beautiful by Susan Meissner (who just followed Magpie on Instagram-- we're only fangirling a little!!!)
• September's book: To be unwrapped on the 15th!

So, mark your calendars for third Tuesdays at Poppy’s, starting September 15! We can’t wait to check out their new space once it's ready, and kick off this next chapter of historical fiction book club with you.
