The schedule:
18th Century apron workshop: 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.
Break for lunch: 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm.
19th Century apron workshop: 2:00 to 5:00 pm.
18th Century apron workshop: Taught by Janet Pyatt, the Colonial apron will be made of white linen with linen thread and cotton tape ties. Sewing techniques will include stroke-gathering and whip-stitching. Cost: $40
19th Century apron workshop: Taught by Colleen L. Kaphengst Pappas, the mid-1860’s apron will be a pinner apron (apron with an attached bib that is pinned in place on the bodice). It will be constructed of period-appropriate cotton fabric in a variety of prints and plaids with cotton thread. Techniques will include machine stitching, whip-stitching, and pleating. Cost: $50.00
