Historic Tour of Hawaii Theatre
About this Event
Historic Hawaii Theatre Tour
Hosted by Waikīkī Community Center
Step inside one of Honolulu's most treasured landmarks and experience the beauty, history, and stories of the Historic Hawaii Theatre, affectionately known as the "Pride of the Pacific."
Built in 1922, the Hawaii Theatre has been an important part of Honolulu's cultural life for more than a century. During this special one-hour docent-led tour, you'll explore the theatre's remarkable history, stunning architecture, beautiful artwork, and the inspiring restoration that returned this historic gem to its former glory.
As The Honolulu Advertiser beautifully described:
"A walk through the historic theatre cannot help but evoke echoes from the past... The journey back through the years makes the tour educational for younger people seeing the structure for the first time, romantic for older folks who recall the Hawaii Theatre in its heyday."
Whether you're discovering the theatre for the first time or revisiting a favorite Honolulu landmark, this tour offers a fascinating behind-the-scenes look at one of Hawaiʻi's architectural treasures.
