Join us on this new walk for 2025, as we cover what may seem like familiar geographic ground of Main Street, now with fascinating stories to tell as we celebrate the lives of Hartford Women. Learn about Hannah Bunce Watson, Caroline Hewins, Elizabeth Colt, Beatrice Fox Auerbach, Ann Uccello & Carrie Saxon Perry, Ella Grasso, Katharine Houghton Hepburn, Mary Townsend Seymour and CT Suffragists, the Beecher sisters, Ann Plato and more. ADVANCE REGISTRATION IS RECOMMENDED. This program is part of our Historic Hartford Walking Tours series, where we forge new paths through Hartford’s history!
Please wear comfortable walking shoes and dress for the weather, as this program will take place outdoors. In case of cancellation due to severe weather, registrants will be notified at the email address on file.
This walk will leave from the rear (east) end of the Butler-McCook Garden at the historic Amos Bull House, with entry and parking at 59 S. Prospect St. If entering from Main Street at the Butler-McCook House & Garden, please proceed through the garden gate to the garden lawn.
