Historic Cemetery Tour

Patchogue Lioness Lions and Friends of Lakeview Cemeteries present a tour of the historic Lakeview Cemeteries on West Main Street in Patchogue Village.
You’ll see the graves of a number of Revolutionary War era Veterans and Patriots and other graves of historic significance.
You can learn how volunteers have been working to document, restore and clean hundreds of neglected gravestones and improve access to this site that was once so overgrown, it was hard to tell it was a cemetery.
The terrain is flat, but unneven in places so wear comfortable shoes and long pants.
There is no cost - we ask for donations to help continue our work.
Space is limited, so sign up soon!!
Collectively known as “Lakeview” and dating to the 1700s, the property at West Main Street ad Waverly Avenue holds five cemeteries. The gated entrance on Main St. leads to the Lakeview and Rice cemeteries, owned by St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. The western “Waverly Cemetery,” includes the Gerard, Old Episcopal, and Union Cemeteries, which are legally abandoned and maintained by the Town of Brookhaven and Friends of Lakeview cemeteries.
