With the public’s help, we will install and later remove, 12,000 American flags on the Virginia War Memorial hill. Why 12,000 flags? This is just one of the many ways that we honor and remember the close to 12,000 Virginians whose names are engraved in our Shrines, having been killed in action.
This event is rain or shine and make sure to wear appropriate footwear, sunscreen and maybe bring some gloves.
