Hiking: Milford to Haslemere (Surrey) – Sat 11 Apr 2026Fancy a proper full-day countryside adventure? This one is a beautiful point-to-point hike across sandy commons, pine woodland and open heathland. We’ll follow the main route (green line) for a smooth finish at a different station.
Meeting & transport
- Meeting point: London Waterloo Station at 8:15 AM
- Train arrival: Milford (Surrey) Station at 9:38 AM
- Start: Milford Station (outside the entrance)
- Finish: Haslemere Station
- Return: Train back from Haslemere to London Waterloo
Tip: Please arrive 10 minutes early and have your rail ticket ready (we finish at a different station).
Hike details
- Distance: 19.1 km (11.9 miles)
- Difficulty: Intermediate (6/10)
- Walking time: About 5 h 15 min (plus breaks)
- Total day: Allow 8–9 hours including trains + stops
- Terrain: Sandy paths, woodland trails, heathland tracks, plus a few short road/pavement sections early on
Tickets / price
- Members: Free
- Non-members: £12
- Option: Including group transport + £25
Group train tickets: if you choose group transport, we travel together there and back from the same station.
Going solo: if you plan to return separately or get off elsewhere, please buy your own ticket in advance.
What to bring
- Comfortable walking footwear (boots if you have them)
- Waterproof jacket and trousers recommended
- Water (at least 1 litre, ideally 2)
- Lunch for the picnic stop
- Some money for a pub stop afterwards (optional)
Dogs are welcome (on a lead at all times)
