Hike to Wright's Tower

Appropriate for: Those who are comfortable hiking at 2-2.5 miles/hr pace over rocky trails with hills

About Joey: Joey is an outdoor enthusiast who’ve been enjoying hiking, biking and kayaking. He regularly explores the Fells on his own or with groups.

About the hike: We will meeting on the steps of the Oak Grove Cemetery at Medford, MA (location). Please park on Playstead Rd before crossing Winthrop Street to Fire Gate 1. Please plan to arrive 10 mins before 9:00 AM as we will leave at 9:00 AM sharp. We will start on Whitemore Brook Road, cross South Border Road to continue on the Skyline Trail to Wright's Tower. We will enjoy the view of Boston if weather permits. After that, we will continue on the Skyline Trail to meet the Cross Fells Trail at East Dam Road and follow the Cross Fells Trail all the way back. The total distance is about 4.3 miles and it should take about 2.5 hrs to complete. We will take frequent water stops to ensure everyone is counted.

A pair of hiking shoes/boots, plenty of water and snacks are recommended. Depending on the weather, certain sections of the trail might be muddy/slippery. If it's snowy/icy, micro spikes are recommended. Also, it is recommended to dress in layers.
