From Cherokee:
Before the Oconaluftee visitor center in SMNP take a right on to the Blue Ridge Parkway, go approx. 10 miles and after going through Lickstone Ridge Tunnel, Heintooga Road will be on the left (no road sign) you will see a sign for Balsam campground once on the road. Go approx. 5 miles and look for Flat Creek Trail parking on the left.
