About this Event

Join us for a special behind the scenes tour as part of the Auckland Heritage Festival to visit parts of Highwic the public don’t usually get to see and see some special objects normally in storage.

Starting with a cup of tea and freshly made scones, staff will introduce the fascinating history of Highwic and the Buckland family, who lived here from the 1860s through until the 1970s, and then lead you on a tour of the house bringing to light the unique stories and objects on display, including two of the handwritten recipe books owned by the family from the late 1800s.

This tour, limited to 12 people, will include information about the family and architecture, along with highlights from the art and decorative art collections.
