Heritage Festival guided Hiikoi with Te Ahiwaru, Ōtuataua Stonefields

Te Ahiwaru (Te Ihu o Mataoho Tours ) with support from the community parks team are hosting a guided hikoii through the fascinating and unique Ōtuataua Stonefields Historic Reserve at Ihumaatao in Mangere.
The reserve and surrounding area is an internationally significant cultural and natural heritage area and is a taonga (treasure) for ahi kaa. Well before the onset of modern trade, tangata whenua harnessed the fertile volcanic terrain of this area, shaping it into a vast and productive landscape.
An average level of fitness and mobility required.
