High School Commemoration

You are warmly welcomed to mark the closing of our High School on Friday, June 19, at Highlands United Church with a Leavetaking Ceremony beginning at 7:00 pm.
We will celebrate our high school in the festive ways we know: through word, music, ritual and reverence.
Beautiful music will be offered by Lori-Ann Speed and Andrea Siradze; 12 candles will be lit by community elders; Philip Thatcher will speak an original poem written for the occasion. Alumni will share prepared messages, and there will be a time for you to light a tealight, set it afloat in the water of the Memory Bowl, and share your thoughts. Lorna Fortin will honour those who have passed, and Gary Jones will read email tributes which have come from those afar. Abegael Fisher-Lang of Life Threads Ceremonies will serve as the Contemporary Celebrant for this event.
A reception will follow upstairs.
