Prepare to be drawn into the sacred sound world of William Byrd perhaps England’s greatest Renaissance composer. Evoking the intimate and clandestine setting of a Catholic mass in Reformation England the concert will present some of Byrd’s most sublime choral works. These are pieces imbued with the poignant longing of a man unable to openly express his faith.
