About this Event
The Circus and the Royal Crescent are two of Bath’s best known landmarks, yet the streets behind them, although no less fascinating, remain largely unknown. Despite widespread bombing in 1942 and post-war redevelopment, Bath’s ‘upper town’ contains some of the city’s finest Georgian buildings. This walk is not only an introduction to lesser-known architectural masterpieces, as it also visits the sites of lost pubs, lost streets, lost churches … and a few ruins.
Terrain: Includes narrow and uneven pavements, steep slopes, steps and rough surfaces.
Starting point: North-west corner of St James’s Square (bottom of Park Street); what three words: meals.showed.crew
Distance: 1.5 miles
Duration: 2 hours
This walk is part of Bathscape Walking Festival.
