About this Event

Please note a full translation will be coming shortly for this event.

This one-day symposium will explore how heritage, culture, and placemaking can play a transformative role in the regeneration of historic townscapes in Wales. As towns across the country face social, economic, and environmental challenges, there is growing recognition that their unique historic character and cultural assets can be central to sustainable renewal.

Hosted in the historic surroundings of St Peter’s Civic Hall in Carmarthen, this symposium brings together local authorities, building preservation trusts, and community stakeholders to explore bold, practical, and collaborative approaches to revitalising heritage assets.

Through thought-provoking talks, interactive sessions, and real-world case studies, we’ll examine how traditional buildings and historic townscapes can drive economic renewal, strengthen local identity, and create sustainable, thriving places.

What to expect:

  • Innovative strategies and case studies for repurposing heritage buildings
  • Insightful sector updates, including the latest policy shifts and legislative changes impacting heritage regeneration projects and the custodians of heritage assets
  • Inspiring stories of successful heritage-led transformation across Wales and beyond
  • Practical guidance on partnership building, and community-driven action
  • Opportunities to network and connect with sector specialists, local leaders, and heritage champions
