About this Event
Here, Still: A Writing Walk Through The Block in Downtown Asheville is a ticketed, two-hour community-centered Asheville writing workshop designed to reconnect residents and visitors with downtown through storytelling, creative placemaking, and intentional engagement with locally owned businesses. Centered on The Block, Asheville’s historic Black cultural district, this guided writing experience, facilitated by local author, Aisha Adams, invites participants to explore downtown as a space of memory, labor, belonging, and future possibility.
This easy walk is less than a mile and includes curated stops at locally owned businesses, with coffee or light refreshments along the way. The experience concludes with a final gathering for reflection, writing, and community exchange.
You’ll leave with new writing, new friends, and a fresh way to experience downtown Asheville.
