About this Event

Join GTEP and The Rustin Institute for Leadership at the Russel Innovation Center for Excellence on Thursday, September 3rd for the -Winning Screening of Black Women, HIV, and The Power of Truth.

Her Story, Our Future: An Intergenerational Conversation with Black Women, brings together media outlets, advocates, leaders, and community members for an honest conversation about health, healing, and justice across generations.

Words of Affirmation will be shared by Reverend Dr. Sande Bailey, followed by a Rustin Leadership Institute Board Member welcome by Advocate and Speaker Kelly Banks.


The program will begin with a short screening of the Telly Award Winning episode: "Black Women, HIV, and the Power of Truth."
Panel One Moderated by Berthine Crèvecoeur West, 2x TEDx speaker, author, as seen on CBS, NBC, and Fox, the discussion will feature Two Time Telly Award-Winning Masonia Traylor - Emmy Nominated Producer and HIV/AIDS Activist, Kennedi Lowman, Emmy Nominated Producer, Author, and HIV Activist, Simitri Nassar, founder of The Sexual Intellectual Movement (SIM) Foundation, whose work centers Black queer communities through pleasure-inclusive sexual health education, HIV prevention, and holistic wellness, Jaimee Colvin MSN, APRN, FNP-C, who has been advocating for Black women living with HIV and who was recently featured on the Portia Show.
Panel Two Moderated by Tim'm West - Executive Director of the Rustin Institute for Leadership, the discussion will feature Randevyn Pierre and Larry Scott-Walker and will focus on how Black Men can support Black Women in the HIV Movement.
Awards: The Production Crew of the Two-Time Telly Award winning talk show Focal Point With Dr. Elijah Nicholas will be honored for their commitment to curating an award winning show.

Karlottta Washington will close out with Words of Affirmation and Call to Action.


Together, this evening will explore the intersections of HIV, gender, identity, wellness, and community while affirming that our greatest progress is made when generations listen, learn, and lead alongside one another.
