Hedgehog Emergency Rescue Bingley (HERBY) was founded by Stephanie Knowles in 2013 and now has around 30 volunteers. Stephanie was a finalist in BBC Springwatch Wildlife Hero Awards. The need for such rescue operations has become increasingly urgent, with Britain's hedgehog population declining by as much as 50% in some areas over the past two decades. Please come and hear her talk about the work she does with this wonderful wildlife. You can learn more about the rescue, and donate to the rescue here: https://www.facebook.com/HedgehogHERBYThis event is ticketed at £4 for non-members and £2.50 for BUWG members. This goes towards the venue hire and can be paid in person on the night by cash or card. If you are able, please let us know you are coming by contacting our Secretary via Facebook Messenger or Email ([email protected]). This ensures we do not go over the room’s allotted capacity.
This is a relaxed seated environment with a tea and coffee break half way through and opportunity for questions. Wheelchair access and disabled toilets on site. The library car park free is to use for the event from 7pm onwards, located behind the library off Central Avenue. Additional parking is on the surrounding streets Manor Lane, Alexandra Road, and Kirkgate, free to use from 6pm. Shipley Library is a 3-minute walk from the market square bus stop and an 8-minute walk from the train station.
This event is hosted by Bradford Urban Wildlife Group, for further information please contact us on Facebook Messenger, or email us at [email protected]
