About this Event

Join Us for the Launch of the Heart to Heart Series: Week 1 – Preparing for Marriage: Self-Discovery and Readiness

We’re excited to kick off the 6-week Heart to Heart Series, organized by Al Hikmah Trust - held every Thursday, starting with Week 1: Preparing for Marriage – Self-Discovery and Readiness. This series will feature insightful talks by Imam Abdullah Kalantan and our special guest speaker, Sr. Saphiya Wahib Z, guiding you through the essentials of understanding yourself and preparing for a fulfilling marriage.

Designed for both singles and married individuals, this series aims to empower your personal journey, foster community connections, and provide practical tools for building strong, lasting relationships.

Learn more about:
  • Self-Awareness: Reflect on your personal strengths, weaknesses, and life goals.
  • Emotional Readiness: Assess your emotional maturity and past experiences.
  • The Importance of Spiritual Preparation: Strengthen your connection with Allah and develop a clear intention for marriage.

Who Are the Speakers?

Imam Abdullah Kalantan is a PhD student in Public Health, specializing in research on smoking behaviors within the Muslim community in both New Zealand and Saudi Arabia. His research and work reflect a passion for improving the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of fellow Muslims. Although he is self-taught in Islamic studies, Imam Abdullah has earned certificates in Quran Recitation and Tajweed and is skilled in teaching others how to recite properly. He actively delivers khutbahs, halaqahs, and Quran classes, sharing his knowledge and insights with the community. Imam Abdullah is also under the supervision of Sheikh Rafat Najm, who endorses his work and leadership. His strong leadership skills, built through both formal education and professional experience, make him well-qualified to guide and engage the community in meaningful discussions during this series.

Sr. Saphiya Wahib Z is a passionate educator and researcher with a background in Islamic Studies and Health Science. Currently pursuing her Master's in Islamic Psychology, Saphiya specializes in adult learning and self-development. She shares her insights at NSIA’s Pearl Night, a monthly halaqah for Muslimahs. Her work is deeply rooted in her love for building confidence in our deen and nurturing our inner selves (soul & self).

Key Highlights:
  • Inspiring talks by Imam Abdullah Kalantan and Sr. Saphiya Wahib Z.
  • An interactive Q&A session to explore personal experiences and insights.
  • The opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals during Suhbah (friendship) time.

  • After the event, we encourage you to visit Juice Up, where a portion of their profits will be donated to Al Hikmah Trust to support our community initiatives.
  • My Little Library will donate 20% of the profits from sales of Islamic marriage books to Al Hikmah Trust and will also be selling our custom-designed bookmarks, with 100% of profits going to Al Hikmah Trust.
