Alcoholism.Be aware of dependence syndrome, tolerance and withdrawal symptoms.
Make sure you have good nutritional habits .
Any strange symptoms without influence of alcohol, always rush to the hospital for further evaluation.
It might be Wernicke's encephalopathy or Korsakoff psychosis as a result of Thiamine deficiency.
Thus only at the hospital can know how to give required thiamine replacement therapy.
Especially those with binge drinking of alcohol.
Wernicke's encephalopathy is acute reversible behavior or psychological changes which presidents with the triad of symptoms altered mental status, ophthalmoplegia and ataxia.
Thiamine is given parenteral for about 1-2 weeks failure to will progress to Korsakoff psychosis.
Korsakoff psychosis or syndrome is irreversible persistent condition in which there is significant changes in brain structures associated with executive functioning, memory and motor skill.
Mammillary body atrophy will result in Anterograde amnesia.
Hypocampus volume loss will result into retrograde amnesia.
Thus take caution while abusing alcohol �.
