Watch, create, celebrate! Radical films, zines & live music at HCC's film festival. In collaboration with The Post Bar.
About this Event

Haringey Community Cinema and The Post Bar invite you to HCC's Film Festival.
Launched in May 2025 with only a few committed volunteers, Haringey Community Cinema has quickly grown into a lively gathering place for film lovers, activists, parents, neighbours and friends. This year, after putting out a call for submissions, we have brought together a powerful selection of films that speak to our shared struggles for justice, for a Free Palestine, for freedom of movement, for an end to police violence, and for the many forms of resistance that sustain our communities. With ‘London’s Radical History’ as our theme, we are excited to share this year’s programme.

Our call invited filmmakers to interpret the theme in their own way, and we were especially keen to highlight works that uncover overlooked stories, celebrate grassroots organising, illuminate everyday acts of defiance and reflect on the moments that have shaped the city’s past and present. These films are not only creative works; they are openings for discussion, learning and imagining. We hope they will spark conversation about the challenges we face today and inspire us to think together about the kind of future we wish to build.

The poster for this year’s festival has been created by the multidisciplinary artist Fiona Quadri, who will also lead a zine-making workshop during the festival. The workshop will invite participants to reflect on the question ‘What kind of community cinema do you want to imagine and build with us?’ and will culminate in the creation of a collective HCC Manifesto.

The festival will conclude with an evening of music for a party co-hosted with the Post Bar. The celebration will feature the performance of Revuelta Acústika followed by two guest DJs, DJ Basura and DJ Sadqueersclub, who will take to the decks from 9:30pm until closing.

About Tickets

Solidarity Pass – Free

A limited number of free tickets offering full access to the festival are available. Everyone is welcome. If the Solidarity Pass is no longer available and you are unable to afford the HCC Supporter Pass, please contact us at [email protected]. No one will be turned away due to lack of funds.

Zine Workshop Fee – £7

This contribution covers the cost of materials for the zine-making workshop and supports the creation of the HCC Manifesto.

HCC Supporter Pass – Suggested Donation: £10

For those who are able to contribute, this pass helps HCC continue organising future events and sustaining our work.

Please note that Revuelta Acústika will be collecting donations during their performance to support their return to Colombia. We also warmly encourage you to support The Post Bar by purchasing food and drinks at the venue.

Why your donations are important?

HCC is run by volunteers and does not receive any funding at the moment. Every donation you make will help us to support local venues and to organise other free screenings.

In a time of rising living costs and persistent barriers for marginalised communities in producing and accessing films that reflect their experiences and aspirations, we are committed to making our screenings free or pay-what-you-can.

About the venue

The Post Bar has a long history with Haringey and Tottenham, and the various communities that use this space. We are very proud to organise our frist events there.

Considering the Post Bar serves alcohol, the venue is only accessible to people over 18.

The venue is accessible, with a ramp at the front entrance and double doors. There are also ramps leading to the toilets and the outdoor area. While the toilet is not a designated disabled toilet, it does have a ramp, and the cubicle is located directly in front of the entrance to the toilet area. If you need assistance prior to or during the event, please email us: [email protected].

Waiting List / Cancellation

Due to the venue’s limited capacity, the event may sell out. If this happens, you can be added to the waiting list. When a ticket becomes available, you will receive an email to book it, and you will have 24 hours to complete your booking.

If you are unable to attend the event, please cancel your ticket(s) so that your place can be offered to someone else.

Covid Policy

HCC does not currently have an official COVID-19 policy. However, we remain mindful that many people are still vulnerable to the virus. We kindly ask attendees to take the following precautions to help keep our events safe and accessible for everyone:

  • If possible, please take a lateral flow test before attending.
  • If you test positive or are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms, please do not attend, even if you feel well.
  • We welcome and encourage the use of masks inside the venue for those who wish to wear them.
  • Please be considerate of others' comfort levels and respect requests for physical distance.

Thank you for helping us create a safer and more inclusive space.
