Harvest Festival Competition
About this Event
Fun Harvest Festival
Sunday 27th September 10:30-16:30
What is the event?
Have you been to the Wassail and Morris Into May events here? Then this is the day for you.
Our Harvest will close the narrative gap of those earlier folk events, and champion what the Gardeners have worked for all year.
It is the first time we've done it so it's very much an evolving event (but always put on in our charming way).
Get involved: (emphasis on the fun part!) It's 50p an entry.
Join in with the three competitions we have going on. These are:
1) Flowers in an interesting vessel - these can be dried or wet, and must be able to stand within the vessel unaided. Think Wellington Boots!
2) Vegetable animals - think Cauliflower Sheep! Can be real or fictitious animals, and must not be larger than a shoe box.
3) Scarecrows - Can be any size, but should display crafting abilities. Do not necessarily have to be of famous people, but that might be fun!
Dressing up - we always encourage dressing up, so choose your best folky costume and join in with the Morris dancing and the crafts.
Rules and Further Particulars:
- Entrants need to bring their entries in before 10:30 on 27th September so that they can be set up (you can even bring them the day before should you wish).
- All the entries will then be voted for by visitors on the day, with the winners announced in the afternoon at about 15:00. An auction will then follow where anyone who wishes to auction off their entries can, raising money for the Gardens.
