For 80+ years, African American neighborhoods in St. Petersburg were resilient, connected and self-sufficient. During the era of Jim Crow and segregation, residents had no choice but to look out and care for each other, building tight-knit communities.

SPEAKER Jon Wilson, author, historian and journalist will guide you through St. Pete's historic African American neighborhoods.
Wilson's career spanned 35 years at the St. Petersburg Times as a reporter, editor and editorial writer. He also co-authored St. Petersburg's Historic African American Neighborhoods and St. Petersburg's Historic 22nd Street South with Rosalie Peck.
