Hosted by Vancouver-based artist Linnea Solomon, this workshop will cover the basics of pencil sketching and coloured pencil colouring, with a focus on botanical subjects. You’ll leave the workshop with a better understanding of how to approach sketching and colouring, as well as a lovely appreciation card for your mom, child, family member and loved one. Linnea will break down how to analyze your subject in an easily digestible way, linework techniques for black-and-white sketches, stylization, and how to wield your coloured pencils with confidence and precision! Once you’ve completed your botanical illustration, you will be encouraged to write a heartfelt message within your card. This would be best suited for beginner and intermediate artists looking to improve their skills. It is not recommended for anyone under the age of 11, as it will be a mix of technical instruction and fun.
