Anzac Day is our national day of remembrance. Attend Hamilton’s Civic Service on Saturday 25 April to honour the New Zealanders who have served in wars overseas, past and present, and to acknowledge the enduring values of courage, compassion, camaraderie and commitment.Hamilton’s 2026 Civic Service will take place at the Cenotaph in Memorial Park and will go ahead regardless of weather. This is our 111th year of commemorations.
Service details
- Parade departs from the corner of Anzac Parade and Memorial Drive at 9.50am
- Service begins at 10am
- Service finishes at approximately 11.15am
After the service, you are welcome to stay and listen to performances by the Hamilton Brass Band and the Hamilton Community Gospel Choir at the Cenotaph.
Large screens will be available in Memorial Park so people can see and hear the service from further back in the park.
Don’t miss the poppies. Thousands of poppies will be displayed at the corner of Memorial Drive and Anzac Parade. The Fields of Remembrance Trust will also place 350 white crosses in Memorial Park to acknowledge Hamiltonians lost in conflict.
