Halloween and Samhain at the Dowling Library

The Halloween traditions we know and love today stem from Irish lore and traditions and the celebrations of Sahmain—entering into the dark half of the year. Come learn more through an illustrative display made possible through a partnership with the Iowa Irish Fest on Irish Folklore. In addition, explore the map of Ireland to learn where all the haunts are hiding!

The Dowling Library will be featuring special seasonal books, offering some treats, stickers, and coloring pages for the wee folk (and the young at heart)—everything to get you and your family into the Halloween spirit.
