Arts and crafts offer kids, tweens, teens so much more than just a fun way to pass the time: they provide a powerful outlet for self-expression, emotional growth, and stress relief. Creating art builds confidence, boosts self-awareness, and encourages innovation and problem-solving in a hands-on, joyful way. It also fosters cultural understanding and can even enhance academic performance. For some, it may spark a lifelong passion or even a future career path, making creativity a truly valuable part of growing up.
With all of that in mind, we'd like to invite all crafty kids, tweens, teens up to age 18 to our monthly Crafternoon Hangout! Each month, our Teen and Youth Services Librarians will join forces to facilitate the meetings and making of a new craft activity, with all materials provided & no RSVP needed! For further information about the Crafternoon Hangout, please contact Emily Kalotai, Teen Services Librarian, at [email protected] or Caitlin Riccitelli, Youth Services Librarian, at [email protected].
