Club Manouche is a Club of the some of the best gypsy swing, jazz and world music musicians in the country. This Far North tour includes a more intimate house concert in Kerikeri and sees the most stellar 5 piece lineup yet. It’s featuring Craig Denham on accordion and vocals, Phil (the shredder) Beatson on guitar, Aaron Coddel on double bass and special guests maestro Nathan Torvik (from Nelson) on mandolin and Professor Funky Pants on violin. Club Manouche play an intoxicating live set of gypsy swing classics mixed with an eclectic selection of odd sorts. The odd reggae tune, a touch of latin, maybe even a subverted pop song and bit of Balkan spice. With the tangible camaraderie of seasoned professional players and long friendships their performances are filled with passion, gusto, a sense of humour and mischievousness and they're not beyond taking a well known tune down the wormhole of contagious improvisational outbursts just to see whats there. Best to bring your bohemian spirit and dancing shoes. These guys know how to party!!
