About this Event
Join acclaimed guitarist and composer Aaron Larget-Caplan for the release concert of Guitar America 250, a sweeping musical tribute to 250 years of American creativity and courage. Taking place Sunday April 19 at 6pm in the historic Music Mansion, this one-hour program traces the nation’s evolving voice through music of revolutionaries, abolitionists, suffragists, immigrants, and rock legends.
The program features works by iconic composers and songwriters including Leonard Bernstein, Irving Berlin, Julia Ward Howe, John Stafford Smith, J. Rosamond Johnson, Ian Wiese, and icons Paul Simon, and Eddie Van Halen.
Larget-Caplan will be joined by Grammy-nominated Baritone Trevor Neal, artistic director of Newport Classical, for a special spoken recitations of poems by Frances Harper, Walt Whitman, and James Madison's Bill of Rights, Amended by Aaron Larget-Capalan.
CDs and scores will be available for purchase and signing. Tickets may be purchased online or at the door. Seating is limited—reserve now for this powerful and timely celebration of America’s musical heritage.
