About this Event
The Guinea Pig Welfare Forum returns for its third year on Tuesday 22nd September 2026 at the Crowne Plaza Birmingham City Centre.
Co-hosted by Burgess Pet Care and Guinea Pig Welfare UK, this unique one-day event brings together veterinary professionals, veterinary nurses, rescue organisations, welfare charities, researchers, educators and members of the pet industry who are passionate about improving guinea pig welfare.
Chaired by John Chitty, the forum will feature expert-led talks, panel discussions and collaborative conversations covering the latest developments in guinea pig medicine, welfare, behaviour, rescue work, education and policy.
This year’s programme will explore key welfare challenges affecting guinea pigs in both pet and rescue environments, alongside topics including reproduction, responsible breeding, rescue centre operations, licensing proposals and the latest research developments.
Confirmed speakers include experts from across the veterinary and welfare sectors, including representatives from the University of Liverpool, Hartpury College and leading small animal practices.
Whether you work in veterinary practice, education, rescue, retail or welfare advocacy, the forum provides an opportunity to learn, network and contribute to meaningful conversations focused on improving standards of care for guinea pigs across the UK.
Tickets are priced at £10, with all proceeds donated to Guinea Pig Welfare UK to support ongoing education, research and advocacy work.
We look forward to welcoming you this September.
