About this Event
For over 400 years, The Hall Estate has been a place of vision and transformation. First home to the Hall family and later to the Moulton family, the estate became closely linked to innovation that helped shape Britain’s woollen, rubber, and automotive industries.
Among its most notable residents was Stephen Moulton, the pioneering industrialist who introduced vulcanised rubber to Bradford-on-Avon, transforming the town into a centre of industrial innovation. His grandson, Dr Alex Moulton, became one of Britain’s most celebrated engineers, whose groundbreaking work reshaped modern automotive and bicycle design — from the iconic Moulton Bicycle to the revolutionary rubber suspension system developed for the Mini.
Allow yourself to be enveloped in timeless elegance as you explore seven historic rooms across three floors, uncovering the fascinating stories woven into the fabric of our 17th-century Jacobean mansion. Led by knowledgeable guides, each tour brings to life the people, ideas, and innovations that have shaped this remarkable house — offering the opportunity to step inside one of England’s finest Jacobean mansions.
Every guided tour directly supports the Alex Moulton Charitable Trust, with proceeds contributing to the ongoing preservation and restoration of The Hall Estate, ensuring it can be protected and shared with future generations.
Please note: Your ticket also includes access to seven acres of private grounds, allowing time to explore and enjoy the wider estate.
