Step beyond the classroom and join us for an evening of paranormal exploration at historic Fort Taber in New Bedford, Massachusetts.
With its military history, historic fortifications, museum, coastal landscape, and structures that have witnessed generations of activity, Fort Taber offers a fascinating setting for learning and practicing paranormal field investigation.
We’ll begin the evening by meeting at The Soul Purpose at 6:15 PM for check-in and a brief orientation with Paranormal Practitioner Lew Walton. Lew will review safety guidelines, investigation protocols, paranormal equipment, and what participants should be looking and listening for in the field.
From there, we’ll travel together to Fort Taber, where we will explore the museum and surrounding historic grounds while putting paranormal investigation techniques into practice.
Throughout the evening, Lew will encourage participants to approach the location with a balance of curiosity, intuition, observation, and critical thinking. Not every sound, sensation, temperature change, or unusual experience is paranormal. Part of becoming a skilled investigator is learning to observe the environment, consider possible explanations, document what happens, and remain open to what cannot immediately be explained.
During this field exploration, you’ll learn:
• The history of Fort Taber and its military past
• How history can help guide a paranormal investigation
• How to observe and assess a location before drawing conclusions
• Basic paranormal field investigation techniques
• Environmental factors investigators should consider
• Responsible use of paranormal investigation equipment
• How to document unusual sounds, sensations, impressions, and observations
• The role of intuition alongside physical investigation methods
• How to distinguish possible environmental causes from unexplained activity
• Respectful investigation practices at historic locations
• How to work together as an investigation team
Participants will have opportunities to quietly experience different areas of the property, practice observation and investigation techniques, work with paranormal equipment, and share their impressions and findings with the group.
The goal of the evening is not simply to prove whether Fort Taber is haunted. Instead, this hands-on experience is designed to teach you how paranormal investigators approach a historic location, gather information, evaluate experiences, and investigate the unknown with an open but thoughtful mind.
Whether something unexplained occurs or you simply leave with a deeper appreciation for Fort Taber and its history, this evening offers the opportunity to gain practical paranormal investigation experience beyond the classroom.
No previous paranormal investigation experience is necessary.
Please wear comfortable walking shoes and dress appropriately for the weather. Portions of the experience will take place outdoors, so participants should be prepared for walking, uneven surfaces, darkness, and changing coastal weather conditions.
Carpooling from The Soul Purpose is encouraged whenever possible.
