About this Event
Join educational arborist and tour guide Sam Nelson (Tree Stories LLC) for a guided walk through historic sites, cherry groves, and parks in D.C.'s Capitol Hill. Together, we'll discuss tree science, history, and slow down to stroll and reflect under magical blossoms in spring (and take some photos). This walk will not include the beautiful but crowded Tidal Basin. Instead, we'll begin in Stanton Park, walk through the Senate Parks, and then finish at the U.S. Capitol's historic cherry groves around sunset. While cherry trees will be the focus, we'll have fun discussing other trees and DC history on the way. Maybe you'll even make a new friend on the walk (seriously, it happens on tree walks!).
Please note this walk is a little over 1 mile across urban terrain and surfaces. We will be safe but please know that attendees assume their own risk. Wear sneakers!
