About this Event
From raptors to songbirds, many different birds utilize the mosaic of ecosystems that make up the Corkscrew Regional Ecosystem Watershed (CREW). Join a guided birding walk to learn more about the birds of Southwest Florida and how to identify them. There are over 200 species of birds that call CREW home - whether that be year-round or seasonally. Seasonal birding walks are a great way to experience the changing seasons with our feathered friends. Guided bird walks are intended for all levels of birders.
The CREW Marsh Trails offers an opportunity to go birding in several different habitats - pine flatwoods, oak hammocks, marshes, and sloughs. Our marsh restoration work in recent years has increased bird activity and biodiversity along the 5,000-acre sawgrass marsh. Since this restoration project began, we’ve observed Snail Kites, Black-necked Stilts, Wood Storks, Black-bellied Whistling ducks, and more from the marsh observation tower.
