About this Event
From raptors to songbirds, many different birds utilize the mosaic of ecosystems that make up the Corkscrew Regional Ecosystem Watershed (CREW). Join a guided birding walk to learn more about the birds of Southwest Florida and how to identify them. There are over 200 species of birds that call CREW home - whether that be year-round or seasonally. Seasonal birding walks are a great way to experience the changing seasons with our feathered friends. Guided bird walks are intended for all levels of birders.
The CREW Cypress Dome Trails is a great place to look and listen for Sandhill Cranes flying over, owls calling, woodpeckers pecking, and songbirds singing. As the seasons shift, so do the birds! Migratory warblers and vireos utilize the variety of habitats here. As water levels fluctuate, wading birds like Great Egrets, Snowy Egrets, Wood Storks, and Roseate Spoonbills will congregate in wetlands to forage. Some rare birds like the Hairy Woodpecker, Red-headed Woodpecker, and Grasshopper Sparrow have been spotted here.
