What is GBT?
Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) is a minimally invasive solution to Biofilm Management during professional dental hygiene preventative and non-surgical periodontal therpies, implemented with the Original EMS AIRFLOW Prophylaxis Master® (AFPM).
Attendees will receive:
- EMS GBT Provider Certificate
- 6 PACE CE Credits

By the end of the 6 hour group training, attendees will be able to:
- Understand the impact of the oral microbiome on oral and systemic diseases.
- Comprehend the Assessment, Disclosing, Motivation, AIRFLOW®, PERIOFLOW®, PIEZON®, Check and Recare phases of the GBT workflow.
- Understand the practice, patient, and provider benefit when implementing the GBT Protocol.
- Understand the Technology Required to provide GBT in Preventative and non-surgical periodontal Therapy.
Training Itinerary:
- Hours 1-3: Theory and evidence of the GBT Protocol, handpiece and component review, reprocessing, device 101, AFPM disinfection, weekly maintenance, recommended water and power settings.
- Hour 4: Pre-clinical application using GBT Training Tools
- Hours 5-6: Clinical partner care hands-on application of all GBT handpieces, tools, and instruments
