[Growth Circles] Psychological Safety at Work
About this Event
Great people managers aren’t born — they’re built through practice. Now is the time to move from insight to action, and action to mastery. Here’s what’s coming up next on your growth journey:
06 July | [Practice Lab] Balancing Tension & Trust
Psychological safety is shaped over time by how we respond during real conversations — especially as expectations, roles, and ways of working continue to shift.
With rapid AI adoption and ongoing workplace change, new tensions are surfacing: uneven adoption, different comfort levels, shifting expectations, and pressure to keep up while still delivering. These can further erode trust and make already difficult conversations harder.
This interactive practice lab creates a structured space for you to work through real workplace situations.
Through guided exercises, reflection, peer coaching, and facilitated feedback, you will explore how to:
- Navigate difficult conversations amid shifting expectations
- Respond to tension without escalating defensiveness
- Maintain trust when perspectives on change or performance differ
- Support teams through different learning curves while maintaining accountability
Designed as a small-group experience, the lab offers a more personalised space to deepen relational leadership practice.
21 July | [Masterclass] Psychological Safety at Work: Where Teams Get Stuck — and What Actually Helps
Many organisations value openness, trust, and psychological safety. Yet in practice, people still hesitate to speak honestly and often, difficult conversations are avoided.
Take part in this masterclass where we explore why psychological safety is difficult to sustain within complex organisational systems shaped by hierarchy, performance pressures, communication patterns, and leadership dynamics.
Rather than viewing psychological safety as an individual responsibility, you will examine the broader relational and systemic conditions that influence behaviour, trust, and voice at work.
Through guided discussions, case exploration, and shared reflection, you will get to explore:
- Common “safety killers” in teams and organisations, including those arising from change and AI adoption
- How leadership and systems shape behaviour, communication, and trust
- Why well-intentioned initiatives fail to create genuine safety
- How differing learning curves and expectations affect team dynamics
- What sustainable approaches to psychological safety look like in practice
This session also previews the relational leadership principles explored in The Art of Relational Leadership programme.
