Growing Food In Small Spaces
About this Event
Living in a big city surrounded by so many businesses, it's easy to forget that almost all of the food we consume is shipped in. What happens when there are problems with the supply chain? Or if your neighborhood grocery store closes? Add to that the fact that the longer produce is in transport, the more nutrients it loses.
Join us for a hands on workshop focused on growing food in small spaces and discovering how even the smallest areas can become productive gardens. Led in collaboration with The Plant Plug™, this workshop will explore practical techniques for maximizing your growing space while helping you build confidence to grow fresh food at home.
Participants will learn:
- How to understand and assess your growing space
- The best crops to grow in small spaces
- Vertical and creative growing techniques to maximize production
- Container Gardening 101, including selecting containers, soil, and basic care
- Practical strategies for growing fresh food at home, no matter the size of your space
This interactive workshop includes hands on learning, discussion, and opportunities to apply what you've learned so you can start growing your own food with confidence.
All supplies will be provided.
In partnership with The Plant Plug™ and Crop Swap LA™.
