Growing & Harvesting 102
Designed for those who have completed Growing & Harvesting 101—or experienced gardeners looking to go deeper—this hands-on workshop explores the science, technique, and nuance behind growing and harvesting lavender like a pro.
This advanced, in-field experience focuses on real-world application and will include a combination of walking and guided travel across the farm by golf cart as we explore key growing areas. Diving into topics that go beyond the basics, including soil health, plant performance, harvesting for specific uses, and long-term plant care.
You’ll explore how bloom timing impacts everything from dried bundles to culinary use and oil production, learn to interpret soil conditions and amendments, and understand how to shape and maintain healthy, productive plants season after season.
We’ll also introduce the chemistry behind lavender’s scent; what creates it, how it varies by cultivar, and how it influences use.
