About this Event
Join North Branch Natives for a 4-part gardening series that will provide you with EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW to plan and implement a native habitat garden. This beginner-to-intermediate series covers native plant gardening essentials, from designing and mapping your own garden to selecting, planting, and maintaining native plants. Topics include habitat basics (debris, soil, stems, seasonality, and more), design techniques, and hands-on horticultural practices.
By the end of this class series, you will have an executable garden design and the tools to make it a reality. Participants will also be able to: Understand the importance of native gardening and key features to building healthy habitat for pollinators (debris, soil, stems, seasonality, flower shape and structure, etc); Identify, design and diagram a new garden area (plant search tools, creating a base map); Learn the horticultural techniques needed to prepare, plant and maintain their new garden.
Participants will also receive ongoing gardening support from North Branch Natives- we are committed to helping every gardener succeed, every step of the way! Leading up to the class and in the time following, participants can please contact us with their garden questions.
Supplies list: 11x17 graph paper, 11x17 roll trace paper, pencils, markers and pens with varying tips, white pearl eraser (or similar). NOTE: Pre-class instructions will be provided for creating your landscape base map image.
