About this Event

Searching for ways to give back to the local land and rivers? Want to learn more about Bow River ecology, while making a meaningful contribution?

The cottonwood forests along the Bow River are the richest habitat for songbirds, wildflowers, and berry shrubs in the city, yet pressure from invasive species is taking their toll on native plants community and damaging these precious prairie oasises.

Join a work party of fellow volunteers to give back to the rivers that give us life. Immersed in the scent of wolfwillow and humming music of the Bow, you can spend the morning pulling weeds, replanting natives, and learning about local ecology, while bonding with others through shared work.

This project brings together volunteers, youth, and local organizations, while honouring Indigenous Knowledge and supporting long-term citizen-led science, education, and stewardship of our riparian areas.

All training and equipment are provided. The event is free.

It's part of a four-part series this summer. Come any or all of the events in this series. We look forward to seeing you there!
