Details:
Join The 5am Crew for an invigorating 6-mile round trip hike to Mount Hollywood Summit! This hike is moderate to difficult and not intended for beginners. We meet at 5:00 AM and start the hike at 5:15 AM SHARP. The hike includes a 3-mile incline, and we aim to be back down by 8:00 AM.
What to Bring:
• Water: At least 2 liters.
• Snacks: To keep your energy up.
• Proper Hiking Shoes: No flat-soled shoes; they lack the grip needed for this terrain.
• Flashlight: Necessary for the first hour as it will be dark.
• Medication: Such as asthma inhalers or allergy medication, if needed.
• Bug Spray: To protect against insects.
• Hat/Headband: For sun protection.
• Small Trash Bag: We practice Leave No Trace principles.
• Dog: Medium to large dogs are welcome if they are trained and leashed (no tiny dogs for safety reasons).
Safety & Connection:
• We emphasize the buddy system for checking in with each other and ensuring everyone’s safety.
• The hike includes multiple checkpoints to rest and hydrate.
• We encourage a friendly and supportive atmosphere where everyone helps each other out.
• If you feel unwell or unable to continue, please inform someone and turn back.
