Green Ukraine and Siberia: Lost Partners of 1918
About this Event
Green Ukraine and Siberia: Lost Partners of 1918 – a lecture by Susan Smith-Peter, Professor of History, College of Staten Island/City University of New York
Learn how nearly half a million Ukrainians near Vladivostok joined forces with Siberian federalists in 1918 to build an autonomous Green Ukraine. Despite fierce opposition from centralist forces, their shared push for self-determination offers crucial historical insights into federalist state-building that remain relevant today.
