Transport & Address:
The minibus will be running as usual for anybody who wishes to get a lift from the Lido car park (The Rye, High Wycombe). The bus will leave at 10am promptly.
Alternatively, you can meet us on site at 10.15am. We will be meeting at the vehicle entrance to Gomm's Bank on Herbert Road Service Road. There is no parking available on the Service Road but you can park considerately in the surrounding streets. The nearest postcode is HP13 7HW.
The Task:
A bit of a mix today - we need to finish raking Gomm's Bank to ensure wildflowers come back next spring and we will also coppice a section of the boundary woodland to create diversity in the age structure.
Timings (please note these timings are approximate):
10.00: Arrival on site or at the lido, please don't be late!
10.15: Safety briefing, plus task and site introduction - work begins!
11.30: Tea & coffee break
12:30: Minibus departs for those returning to the Lido
13:00: Work finishes, time to go home. Minibus arrives back at Lido.
What to Bring:
Please bring your gloves (we will have spares) and dress for the weather and the task.
Long trousers are advisable as there may be ticks and thorny vegetation. We also recommend wearing steel toe capped or sturdy boots rather than trainers.
Wear layers that you can remove if you get hot whilst working. Bring a waterproof as most of our sites have no shelter from the rain.
Please bring plenty of fluids. We will bring a tea kit and biscuits.
Volunteering and COVID-19:
Please do not attend sessions if you have tested positive for COVID or if you have COVID symptoms e.g. a new continuous cough, a high temperature, a loss of, or change in your normal sense of taste or smell.
