About this Event
Join us for a free Green Industry Continued Education (GICEs) Arborist Training event on Wednesday, December 18th, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Wingfield Park in Reno! This hands-on event, sponsored by the City of Reno, University of Nevada, Reno Extension, and Cal Line Equipment offers Arborists a chance to improve their skills in a supportive environment.
The event will feature a live aerial rescue demonstration, both with and without the use of tree climbing spurs. Participants will then have the opportunity to practice aerial rescue themselves. Additionally, participants can learn about and practice climbing techniques using a Single Rope System, and climbing a dead tree with spurs. Finally the class will include an hour talk about chipper safety as well. International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Continued Education Units (CEUs) have been applied for and we are looking to offer a total of 4 CEUs.
Please make sure to dress appropriately for the weather as this class will be fully outside. There is metered parking available along first street. There are no publicly available bathrooms at the park.
Please contact Wendy Hanson Mazet at [email protected] if you have any questions about the event!
