Learn how to properly clean grave headstones safely and effectively - without causing damage - in this event to raise funds for the historic Kelton House.
Last year Kelton House suffered a devastating gas explosion, and proceeds from this event will be donated to help them recover as we both teach proper cleaning technique and clean the Kelton family makers.
Old grave stones are typically made of porous materials such as marble, limestone, and sandstone. Cleaning them requires special care, appropriate tools, a safe cleaning solution, and correct technique. Without this specialized knowledge a well-meaning person can do irreversible damage and actually accelerate a grave stone's deterioration.
This 2-hour workshop will cover the basics of do-no-harm, step-by-step instruction and demonstrations, and hands-on experience cleaning historic grave markers. All tools, equipment, and approved cleaning solution will be provided.
Registration Required. Fee: $40 per person.
Proceeds will benefit Kelton House Museum & Garden to help them rebuild following a fire that caused significant damage in November 2025.
